The ORIGEM Yearbook has been conducting an annual vote since 2019 to elect the most admired professionals in the field of Government and Institutional Relations (GIR) according to the nomination of their peers participating in the Yearbook.
In 2024, the ORIGEM Yearbook will initially nominate 50 (fifty) finalist professionals, and subsequently, on the day of the event, the 30 (thirty) most admired professionals in the field of GIR in Brazil from three different categories, based on the result of valid votes received and audited.
Finalists:
1) Companies: 30 GIR professionals who work in companies will be announced as finalists.
2) Associations/Third Sector: 10 GIR professionals who work in associations or third sector entities will be announced as finalists.
3) Consultancies and Law Firms: 10 GIR professionals who work in specialized consultancies and law firms with a GIR area will be announced as finalists.
Winners:
1) Companies: 15 GIR professionals working in companies will be awarded.
2) Associations/Third Sector: 5 GIR professionals working in associations or third sector entities will be awarded.
3) Consultancies and Law Firms: 5 GIR professionals working in specialized consultancies and law firms with a GIR area will be awarded.
The ORIGEM Yearbook will also recognize the most admired RIG professionals in different countries of Latin America. The three most nominated names by their peers in the markets of Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia, Chile, and Mexico may be awarded. To be eligible for the award, each of these markets must reach a minimum number of participants, as indicated in the topic “Latin America Categories” below.
The voting for the most admired professionals in the ORIGEM Yearbook will be conducted during the research process for the 2024 edition, carried out through the online survey platform managed by the organization.
Regarding participation in the election:
Regarding the Brazil categories:
In this category, professionals at the managerial level or above who work directly in the GIR area of private companies, mixed economy companies, or private-law public companies can be nominated. GIR professionals working in professional associations, third-sector entities, law firms with GIR areas, and specialized consultancies should only be nominated in their respective categories. Votes for professionals outside their respective categories will be disregarded in the final tally.
When making their nominations, gir professionals should consider the professional history, recent achievements, and contributions to both the company and the sector in which they work, as well as their contribution to the development of the GIR field in Brazil. Survey participants cannot vote for themselves or for professionals working in the same company as themselves. Such votes will be disregarded during the final tally.

Regarding the voting process
Tallying and announcement of winners of the BRAZIL categories
In all three categories, the most admired professionals will be those who gather the highest number of valid nominations. The editorial team of the ORIGEM Yearbook reserves the right to not consider votes from professionals who do not meet the qualification criteria for the survey, as well as to disregard votes cast for professionals who do not meet the participation criteria.
The tallying will consider the name of the professional rather than the organization they work for. Therefore, if a professional is mentioned by two different organizations (for example, their current one and one they have previously worked for), both votes will be counted for the professional. Any spelling errors in the name (such as letter swaps) will not prevent the vote from being considered valid.
In the event that professionals, for any reason, have responded to the survey and voted more than once, only the votes from the most recent survey submission will be considered.
In the event of a tie that results in the number of nominees exceeding the total stipulated for each category, the tiebreaker criterion will be the name that has received the highest number of mentions in the first position. If the tie persists, the name with the highest number of mentions in the second position will be considered, and if the tie continues, the third position will be considered as a tiebreaker.
To qualify as one of the MOST ADMIRED GIR PROFESSIONALS IN THE ORIGEM YEARBOOK, the nominated names must meet the same criteria used to qualify participation in the survey in their respective categories of operation.
The names of the most admired professionals will be presented in alphabetical order, without any ranking positions among them, nor the number of votes each received.
The most admired professionals will be highlighted in the publication of the ORIGEM Yearbook, featuring in a special section dedicated to presenting the professionals nominated to the market.
The voting process and its results will be assessed and validated by an independent auditing firm.
The professionals nominated as finalists will be contacted by the editorial team of the ORIGEM Yearbook and must, within the stipulated timeframe, accept the potential final award on the day of the ORIGEM Yearbook launch, and provide the requested information. Failure to accept the nomination as a finalist or potential awardee will result in disqualification of the professional by the organization, which will then designate as the most admired professional the subsequent non-ranked professional with the highest number of votes.
Regarding the Hall of Fame of ORIGEM YEARBOOK
Starting in 2023, GIR professionals who have received four nominations, whether consecutive or not, in the ORIGEM Yearbook awards will be eligible to join the ORIGEM Yearbook Hall of Fame, provided they authorize their inclusion. All professionals nominated for the Hall of Fame will be featured in the publication’s editions, but they will not be considered eligible for the Most Admired awards in the ORIGEM Yearbook final tally.
Regarding the LATIN AMERICA categories
Since 2022, the ORIGEM Yearbook has expanded its horizons, now covering six new markets in Latin America: Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.
All GIR professionals from the respective countries who meet the requirements established by the editorial team of the ORIGEM Yearbook are eligible to participate in the voting. These include GIR professionals at the managerial level or above in companies, partners in the GIR area of law firms, partners and directors of specialized GIR consultancies, managerial-level or GIR professionals, and presidents of professional associations and third-sector institutions active in the respective country.
When reaching this minimum number of votes, the country qualifies to have its top three professionals as indicated in the survey conducted with the GIR leadership of the respective country recognized as the most admired.
The awarding of professionals from eligible Latin American countries will not have differentiation of professional categories. Professionals working in the GIR field across all market segments covered by the ORIGEM Yearbook 2024 can be nominated and awarded.
In addition to receiving a trophy and recognition, professionals from these countries will be prominently featured in the special section of the ORIGEM Yearbook dedicated to presenting the most admired professionals to the market.
In the event of a tie resulting in the number of nominees exceeding the total stipulated for each category, the tiebreaker criterion will be the name with the highest number of mentions in the first position. If the tie persists, the name with the highest number of mentions in the second position will be considered, and if the tie continues, the third position will be considered as a tiebreaker.
Regarding the annoucement of the finalists of the ORIGEM YEARBOOK
After the tallying of valid votes from all the above categories, as well as their validation by the auditing company responsible for the ORIGEM Yearbook, the list of finalists who will compete for the award will be announced 60 days prior to the date of the launch event.
